Agility and Adaptability Key to Weathering the COVID-19 Storm

14 Jul 2020

Mark Gillie – Chairman

That COVID-19 has changed everything – at warp speed – cannot be over-stated. As it stands the global pandemic has all but brought the travel and aviation industries to a grinding halt, which is sure to have far-reaching, adverse implications for all those within these sectors.

As the saying goes, the only constant in life is change. The lesson we can take from this crisis, is that every business has had to react with agility, and innovation to future-proof their organizations for long-term sustainability. As a forward-thinking company founded on, and driven by, innovation ADEPT has embraced the changes that have arisen from this, our new normal.

In line with this thinking ADEPT are very pleased to announce various exciting changes in our organization…

Richard Schulz, founder and CEO at Airmotive Technology will be focusing his attention on technical developments. New model development, range expansion, alternative fuels and electro/hybrid technology will be Richard’s areas of particular emphasis, given his expertise in these spheres.

Additionally, UAV and military applications will be an area where ADEPT’s innovative engine range can find applications, and these avenues will be explored.

Applications engineering for customer engines and liaison with NTC and TC OEMs are firmly in Richard’s wheelhouse, as will be the development of rotor wing and personal air mobility
technologies. We have also recently welcomed the very talented Carl Meyer, who has joined the marketing team, with a dedicated focus on digital media and marketing. Carl boasts a wealth of experience in these areas, and is set to reinvigorate these segments of the business.

“The addition of Carl to our team enables me to hand over the day-to-day marketing activities of the company, allowing me to be more available to help our customers regarding technical matters.  We are very excited at these and other developments, which include exploring new market opportunities, to ensure the future-proofing of our business as a whole. That we are prepared for the hard work required to do this, naturally goes without saying”, concludes Richard.

Editor’s Note: About ADEPT
ADEPT engines are poised to become the power-plant of choice in the 280Hp – 360Hp sector of the
General Aviation industry. As an organization, ADEPT remains committed to responsible and
sustainable business practices. Given the nature of our industry, ADEPT has a unique perspective on the impact that aviation should have on our environment – essentially as little as possible. Our vast investment in clean manufacturing technology, in building engines that run on readily available lead- free fuels, including ethanol blends, engines that are quiet, have the lowest exhaust emissions and Carbon footprint in both manufacture and operation, are our investment in the future of aviation. We also believe that flying should be affordable and accessible to those who want to take to the skies. We believe, both literally and figuratively, that flying should not cost the earth.
